Tigers fall to Raiders
Fayetteville High School's Tiger football went down to district rival Moore Co., 33-7. FHS is still looking for their first win over the season.
Injuries have crippled the Tigers with fifth string quarterback Zayshon Pullen taking the snaps. To add to the personnel problems starters Isaac and Ethan Causey have finished their season due to family relocation.
"We've got to go with the players we've got left," Coach Alvin Palmer said. "We'll miss the Causey brothers, they've played very hard for us and I appreciate what they've done - needless to say they'll be missed."
"It's not going to get any easier," Coach Palmer added. "Four of our final five games are road trips, we go to Richland Friday night followed with Cornersville, Warren Co., then we have an open date before Harpeth. We finish our season at home with Grace Christian."
Friday night the Raiders were up 14-0 at the end of one on runs from the three and nine yard line.
The Tigers kept Moore Co. off the board in the second period and FHS trailed 14-0 at the break.
Moore Co. tacked on two scores in the third frame coming on runs of 82 yards and from the 1 yard line. It was a 27-0 ball game headed to the fourth.
Just inside the 10 minute mark the Raiders broke loose from 62 yards out up 33-0. The score for the Tigers came with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game when Zayshon Pullen pushed it in from the one. Stephen Yatsko kick was good and it finished at 33-7 in favor of Moore Co.
This week the Tigers travel to Richland. Kick off is at 7 p.m. The Raiders are coming into the match up coming off a 52-14 win over Franklin Grace.
