Fayetteville High School's Tigers split with Culleoka in their opening week of action. Due to field conditions FHS is playing all their games on the road - it is being evaluated on a week to week basis. The Tigers won their first game with the Warriors 15-1 but dropped the second five inning match up 2-1.
"We're doing the best we can with what we have to work with," Coach Jay McElyea said. "Most fields are playable now - our situation is different since it's located in a river bottom, so we'll keep traveling.
"I do want to thank South Lincoln Sports Complex for the use of their facility," added McElyea. We're using it so we can get some work outside and batting practice. I'd like to say we can host one of our up coming games with Moore Co. but it may be after the first of April. It all depends on additional rain and drying conditions."
